I'm looking for the name of the hardware that holds a ribbon board off the house when hanging a deck. It's a metal bracket I've seen advertised in all the trade magazines. The ribbon board sits in it, and it bolts to the house. It prevents water from collecting behind the ribbon board, causing it (not) to rot.

"I think the item you want is "the Stratton Bracket". They work great. You don't have to remove any siding to hang a ledger board. Bolt them on and away you go. I used them to build a 15 x20 deck off a second floor bedroom three years ago. What a piece of cake that was. One man can handle it..."
